About Jim Harmon
A native of Long Island, New York, Jim Harmon held several management
positions with the General Motors organization in his early career. In
1994, he helped launch Robertson-Surrette Executive Search in Ottawa. He
was named a Partner in 1997 and the President of Ray & Berndtson Ottawa
when Robertson-Surrette merged with Ray & Berndtson in 2000. Jim also
chairs Ray & Berndtson's Canadian Technology Practice.

Jim has worked with some of Canada's best-known technology companies,
including Alcatel Canada, Tundra Semiconductor and JDS Uniphase. He has
helped build senior management teams for some of the Country’s leading
growth companies, including Iogen, Plasco Energy Group, and BelAir
Networks. He has been responsible for recruiting more CEOs and senior
executives for Ottawa-based technology companies than any other
individual.

In 2002, Jim and several other technology sector business leaders founded
MindTrust, a forum exclusively for technology CEOs. In addition to his
professional affiliations, he has led fund-raising initiatives for Ronald
McDonald Children's Charities, Catholic Charities of Western New York, the
National Arts Centre and Champions for Children. Jim also serves on the
Governance Committee of the Ottawa Hospital Foundation Board and is a
Director of a New York-based charitable foundation. In 2001, Jim was
recognized with the Ottawa Business Journal's "40 Under Forty" award. Jim
holds a BA from the University of New Brunswick.
